Love is an expression , a nature, a state of being that was created by a loving God. God is the definition of Love. It is our identity. Love was the template for creation. It was through the eyes of love that God formed the heavens and the earth in Genesis 1. By doing all of creation’s work before finally making man. It shows us that the stage was set for man to come and rule, reign, have dominion and occupy.

Looking through the Bible we see a God who was always wooing mankind after the fall, even when they rebelled and went after other gods. Humans are created to love hence the quest for love. Our experiences, traditions and culture has primed us to look for love in the wrong places, we confuse love with pleasure, materialism, self gratification, entertainment, power and excesses. No!
Love has boundaries, love is disciplined, love is kind, patient and long suffering. It doesn’t seek it’s own.

God never gives up on us. He is constantly calling to us to reconcile with Him. He stepped out of eternity to die for mankind. That was the ultimate sacrifice, revealing the heart of The Father.
May we never cease to ponder on what true love it. May we never settle for the lie of what true love is not.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
